Rising from the Fall
Greetings from Champagne, IL! It’s another day off for us, a driving day from Columbus, OH, to Des Moines, IA, and we are thrilled to be heading back west! Since our unfortunate incidents in the southern part of the country, we are pleased to let you know that we have started to climb out of our rut during our eastern leg.
We started off reuniting with old friends from Las Vegas in DC and Philly who were huge in helping us get our heads straight. Edwin and Ashleigh, thanks for hoisting our spirits and reminding us that we must maintain tenacity! We spent a weekend with a newer old friend, Alex, in Boston, who had brought us in to his world of open and warm friends/ music appreciators.
For a week, we were all over upstate NY finding our little niche audiences while basing ourselves in our family’s home. Rita, I love you always for being a sister to me. Am so glad to be able to still see you and watch Evan grow! These past few weeks have been highlighted by friendly and familiar faces from my homes in Vancouver and Las Vegas and building new friendships that promise to be lifelong. Special shout outs to Shannon and Chris in Plattsburgh, NY, Lem, Kyle and Mike in Norwich, NY and Andrew and Amy in Columbus, OH. Looking forward to more late night conversations with you further down the road.
Not every show has been packed with audience members. Not every show has been super financially successful. But we made every performance count. Things could always be better, but they could also be much worse. Right now, we don’t have too many complaints.
We are still absorbing the new positive energies that have been showered upon us by all the lovely people of the last few weeks. I’m sorry to say I can’t list every single person but there’s a lot more than I mentioned above plus the so many more that are too many to list.
But I’m not sorry that there’s more than I can think to list because it’s an inspiring and motivating feeling. You are definitely not forgotten. And I’m pretty sure I told you to never be shy that even if we don’t talk for a few years, to never feel shy about hitting us up when you come to the bay area because you now have friends there.
That being said, we are still going until July with this tour, hoping to be out while our new record, “Clarity Amongst the Rubble” is released on Gypsyblood Records. Stay tuned for more on that…
